The Edelrid Bulletproof  Bent gate is a highly durable snapgate biner, with a keylock nose to prevent snagging and catching. The carabiner is hot forged with an H profile for optimum strength to weight.  It is designed for maximum durability with a steel insert to prevent premature wear from your rope or bolt hangers. 

This carabiners 'piece d'resistance' is the steel insert, that is much more durable than the alloy used for the body of the carabiner.  There is, of course, a slight weight penalty for including this, but far less than if the carabiner was all steel. This feature makes this biner a great choice for the regular sports climber, preventing excessive wear or the development of sharp edges or burrs due to abrasion from the rope or bolt hangers
